Some VERY familiar looking Wado Ryu Karate

Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei (8th Dan Wado Ryu Karate) adorns the front of the new Blitz Catalogue. Check out this video of him. I notice some extremely familiar techniques. Not too bad for an 81 yr old!!!

    Very nice to see!
    It goes to show that a lot of japanese martial arts share the same root.
    The knife section in particular is very reminiscent of Tomiki Aikido.

    I had the pleasure of teaching Aikido on a course that Tatsuo Suzuki was teaching on a few years ago. He showed kote gaeshi a variation of gyaku aigamae ate lots of taisabaki. A true master..
