Zetar Grading

On Saturday 14th July 2012 was the last Dan grading under the ZETAR name. On the panel were Shaun Hoddy, Greg Barton, Andy Wisbey and Alan Cooper.

We have a a few promotions for Kent members: Lis Jepsen, Christophe Courtin, Phil Eyers, Eoin Kerrigan and Tom Davey were all promoted to Nidan (2nd dan).

Congratulations to them, and to all the others who passed their grading on the day.

Robert Mustard Sensei & Toby Threadgill Sensei @ Dartford Judo Centre

Our good friends at Meikyokai Aikido will be holding a two day seminar with
Robert Mustard and Toby Threadgill this September. These two
undoubted masters of Japanese martial arts need no introduction and for the first time
ever they will be holding a joint seminar.

Open Koryu Dai Roku Weapons Section

Shaun Hoddy Sensei, 6th dan, will be teaching the weapon section of the Koryu Dai Roku at the Goshinaikikwai Aikido Club (Welling) on Thursday 28th June.
The class will be from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

Introduction to Competitive Aikido in Herne Bay

Shogun Aikido Kai is pleased to announce that Vanda Fairchild 5th Dan and David Fielding MBE 6th Dan will be running an Introduction to Competitive Aikido seminar on Sunday 17th June from 11am to 3pm at…Herne Bay Judo and Martial arts centre, Station approach, The Circus. Herne Bay CT6 8PJ
Juniors from 11am -12.45pm and Adults and Older Teenagers from 1pm – 3pm

Vanda and David are the Chief Instructors at Tanseikan Aikido Club. They are both ex World Champions, International Coaches and Referees and will focus on all the key building blocks that will help Aikidoka understand and compete in Embu and Randori.

The seminar is open to all grades, affiliations and styles. Minimum age for Juniors is 8 years old. Aikidoka must bring either their BAA or SAUK membership book with proof of up to date insurance.
The Pre booked mat fee is £10 for under 18’s and £12 for Adults (A sibling discount will apply). Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks. Adults and family members are very welcome to watch. On the day prices will be £12 under 18′s £15 Adults.
